Look into my eyes...

Oscar the giant house spider perched high up on the wall. No need to make things easy for his photographer!
Oly TG5 Tuffy, focus stacked in camera, very slight crop only.
Yikes! Superb close up. I've had a few big ones in the house, too much of a wimp to get close enough to take a picture.

oh he is magnificent and so but he has quite small eyes comparatively - fascinating!

@koalagardens You're right, his eyes are small and not the gorgeous green emeralds of some spiders. It's the hairiness that astonished me, I've never had such a cooperative spider model before and the ability to focus stack in camera to see all the detail

@gemmabrowne Thanks, Gemma, he's big but harmless - to us at least!

Awesome closeup, I can only imagine how you managed to get the shot.

@joev I had to climb on a stool, reach over a table and basically hope I didn't fall! At least he was considerate enough not to move further away. Wish he had come down to MY level though, don't like climbing any more. Thanks, Joe

Whilst I like spiders and as they eat all sorts of (nasty?) insects, I never discourage them, yet recognise I'm probably one of a small minority. This one is a corker. Congratulations!

@s4sayer Thanks very much, Margo. Sometimes I'll put spiders outside but usually just leave them to get on with their little lives. And they are ALL called Oscar!

@jesika2
How wonderful to have your own Oscar Awards Ceremony!
We don’t disturb ours either.

That is truly amazing! It really does reveal the hairiness in a way i've never seen before. Fantastic fav

@julienne1 Thanks, Julienne, like you, I knew spiders were hairy, but definitely not the extent. The little Oly is earning its keep!
