Baby came home to mummy

Eclosed (born hatched emerged) 29 June with a furled wing which I was unable to correct, I did not know what future this little Brimstone girl faced. Today she has spent hours in the garden of her birth feeding on Verbena Bonriensis, Knapweed and anything else she could find. All easy pickings in my insect friendly garden. The Bee fancied his chances too.

How wonderful that she enjoys your garden this much! The furled wing is what you'll always recognize her by :) it seems not to impair her life.
Great compo by the way!
And the bee in flight is a fantastic addition ... she knows how to photobomb :D

@lastrami_ It would be wonderful and astonishing (and highly unlikely) if next April or May I see her ovipositing on my Alder Buckthorn...
Many thanks

@fbailey I cheated. Don't tell anyone, it's a still from video. I'm trying to get one in flight, not done as well as last year - YET! Also trying to get good quality head on eclosion (birth) video.

@koalagardens @merrelyn @bkbinthecity Thank you very much The camera is my much liked - and used - Panasonic FZ1000. Butterflies in flight are difficult and that's my every summer project. Didn't do too badly last year but 2019 is still a work in progress, lots of time yet. Fingers crossed!
