Welcome

One of 3 newly eclosed Painted Ladies in my tiny garden today. These are the offspring of the intrepid long distance travellers from Africa. Hopes are high for a super irruption but I'll believe that when I see it. 1996 was a massive irruption, can 2019 at least equal the uncountable numbers of Painted Lady?

I enjoy photographing lepidoptera from this angle, so often the underwing is prettier than the upper and definitely is in this instance,
