Cinnabar moth by jesika2

Cinnabar moth

Freshly eclosed (emerged) from the chrysalis.
The marks you can see on the container wall are haemolymph. The fluid is stored in the abdomen and when the insect emerges, it is pumped to the veins in the wings to inflate them. Any excess is expelled, like meconium when a baby is born.
