August 2022 was the summer of the Hummer. Humming bird hawk moths arrived in good numbers. Time to play with the pro capture setting of my new toy, the OM1.
It was pretty hit & miss for a while. Yes, I KNEW what I was supposed to do, but getting brain (1 remaining grey cell), eye, focus and shutter button finger to cooperate was somewhat erratic in practice.
By the time the Hummers came, I was beginning to get it right most of the time.
This is a fairly heavy crop which reveals details of legs and abdomen in a way I haven't seen before.

@merrelyn so am I. I get it wrong a lot, but once we’ve got card, computer and camera there are few if any extra costs and lots of opportunities for play time. I have pro cap on one of the “c” buttons: CAF, ISO 250-2000Auto, speed 1/2500, single focus area. Exp comp as/if needed. In really good light I increase speed and ISO. For this shot it was still pro cap, shoot, hope, view, delete…! Good luck.
