[H]azy [H]alifax [h]arbour.

Fake hazy - the shot was out of focus anyway so I softened it further in picnik. Consider this to be a 'before' shot. I will take another one some other night and try harder. Tripod will help. Being on solid ground rather than a moving ferry will help. I brought my camera to work intending to re-create this shot today, but wasn't thinking of how late I'd have to stay in Dartmouth until it was dark enough. Nope, not going to happen. So, here's an old one instead.
Love it! Looks like floating lights...fav:)

I like the soft, hazy look of the lights. Gives them a nice glow.

So not how I pictured Halifax. Great pic.

@chewyteeth ~How did you picture Halifax, Canada? Similar to Halifax, UK? Not that I know what Halifax, UK looks like!
June 15th, 2011
@jgoldrup Is it Halifax Nova Scotia? I pictured a big fishing village with lots of low-rise, and some big trawlers in port, maybe mountains around the outside with Victorian housing. Halifax Yorkshire (UK) is lots of terrace houses and mills in yorkshire stone, which is like this pale brown rough cut stone, that makes everything recognisable, and there's a nice river running through and great moorland around it. x

@chewyteeth Yep, Nova Scotia. We're not a fishing village, but do have lots of low-rise and heritage Victorian in the downtown core. There's actually a height restriction on new developments downtown. No mountains, unfortuantely. Some trawelers come in, but most of the boats in the harbour are yachts or tourism-related ones.
