All week, it had been calling for rain today. This being the Maritimes and all, it turned out to be a gorgeous day instead. I even got a sunburn (idiot). Anyway, my friend Jana (yes, with one ‘n’) was willing to be in my shot, rain or shine. Thanks Jana!

Edits: Some adjustable threshold in picnik, which I think does wonders to silhouettes holding umbrellas. I also tried out a ‘raindrop’ texture, but removed it…didn’t think it would fool anyone considering all the other people in the shot without umbrellas.

@pwallis ~ Not really. We were standing in the shade of that reflective building and everyone else was making sure to walk where the heat from the big yellow ball in the sky was hitting the boardwalk. Precious and rare that heat has been!

Ooh! Great idea for your "u" entry and I love the mixture of silhouettes and bright white areas, the lines from the various fences and walkways, and the contrast between the stationary figures and the joggers/walkers.
