We didn't find any osprey at the pond but my friend knew about a nest perched on top of a bridge. When we first got there with cameras and tripod, mom flew off to a tree letting us know in no uncertain terms with her vocal complaints that she didn't like us there. But then a hawk flew overhead and she flew right back and spread her tail feathers so her babies could hide under her. One of the babies hid under there but the other one seemed more curious and snuggled next to her chest usually looking right in the same direction as mom. The hawk quickly left but mom stayed there sheltering her babies, we figured, from the scorching sun. I am hoping they will fly well their first attempt and not fall to be crushed under a truck on the bridge. Best viewed large.
I've been blown away by the response to my latest humming bird shot! Wow. Thanks for taking me to the pp
Oh, yeah! that's awesome!! Great detail and lighting.
Is this the Harrisburg bridge? There's a big nest on the west end of that one, and is again occupied. I have been intending to get over there and photo it again (I did a long time ago, early in my project, with my point 'n shoot).
@2thgirl Yes, that's where this is from. I finally got to download my pictures from that day to my computer and I have shots I like better than this one that I will probably post one of these days. Thanks for looking
