Talons Spread Black and White by jgpittenger

Talons Spread Black and White

I am WAY behind! I spent all day yesterday at Finley Wildlife Preserve practicing in flight captures. One of the most exciting moments was when two hawks and a juvenile bald eagle took each other on for dibs on lunching on geese. I wish I had gotten a clearer capture of the moment when the eagle and one of the hawks did in flight battle. This is the best I got but what an experience to watch!
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs. They mean a lot to me. I will do my best to visit your albums later today.
This is an amazing shot!!! I think you've done really well. Love the hawk on its back. The processing is perfect.

That's a gutsy hawk! I got two eagles doing this last year, and it is a sight I will never forget.

Great processing of a picture that was perhaps not one of the best initially...goes to show that one should think twice before discarding pictures, because this is such a special and challenging capture, you would not want it to go to the dustbin. Full marks for technical ability, both in capturing and processing!

Amazing work Jane with fabulous editing.

Brilliant! I was lucky enough to see sea eagles talon clasping in Scotland once and then a golden eagle joined in. I was interested to learn that the smaller eagles tend to be more 'provocative' and that crows are even more likely to start a fight!
