Spider with Dinner Wrap b and w

Not as deep a dof as I would have wished but it was still fun to watch the action of her catching and wrapping. for the b and w natural light theme for my mentoring group.

I like the light falling on the web. I think that is really effective.

I was watching a spider just like this earlier, trying to get a shot but it kept blowing around. The spider has built its web across the stairs going down off the back deck of our Chicago house, and I've had to ask workmen to work around it so that I can take a photo later today. I love what you did with this! It looks like we're seeing it's face with two long eyes, a nose and a mouth in a frowny shape. Very fun and interesting b&w!

This is a wonderful POV for this shot. Usually, one might see it from the side or the top. I really enjoy how the web is lit up and the "spider toes" from below.

Love the silvery web, and the talented weaver :)

Ooh super detail. The web looks interesting if a little haphazard.

Super shot - so good in b&w

Wonderful B&W image! I love the light on this which has made it almost like a negative! What a cute "face"! Never thought I would say that as I hate spiders! Lol! I have never managed a good spider shot - either the web is moving in the breeze or my hands are shaking! I realised I have somehow lost the follow for you so Fav and follow!

Nice in the b/w

I love all the detail in the web, it just shines! I think it needs a bit greater dof for the spider, but it looks great.

I like this closeup of spider and web. Even if the spider is not as sharp as you would have liked, there is at least a great feeling of action. It can be hard to get the dof just right, with good focus and detail on the subject and a nicely out-of-focus background. I was shooting a large spider yesterday and had a similar problem. Not sure yet whether I'll post any of the results.

It would have been great to get a little more spider detail but this is still action packed and fascinating. Love that we're beneath it all
