Much better on black if you have time.
One of the high points of the constant storms we've been having is two days of the highest surf I've ever gotten to see. I wish I'd gone back for the second day but I was still drying myself and my camera out from the day I went. The salt spray soaked me to my bones and the plastic bag I had around my camera was a bit of a joke. Hopefully my camera will survive.
If you look carefully you will see teeny people at the lookout on the rock right above the middle of the vertical of the photo. The wave is higher than them!
I was ecstatic to have my bubble and smoke make the PP. It doesn't happen often these days. Thank you so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Holy cow, Jane... what stunning surf! It just dwarfs the tiny people on the overlook. So much power. The details in this shot are really excellent. Good luck drying out!
Oh dear...I hope your camera survives this. It's quite an impressive capture so I can imagine how windy and wet it must have been. I also like your choice of b&w which adds to the drama.
This is fabulous - especially in b&w and against the black. I enlarged and looked at those tiny people - really really does give that wave some awesome power. What a remarkable shot! Fav
@joansmor thanks Joan. People get killed by sneaker waves every year on the Oregon Coast but I was up behind a solid fence about as high as the people in the photo but the waves were coming in from the side with rocks that slowed them. I got drenched with spray but the waves themselves were blocked from hitting me..unless, of course, there had been a tsunami
Hope your camera is okay
