Under the Winchester Bay Pier by jgpittenger

Under the Winchester Bay Pier

Jim took over puppy duty yesterday so I got a chance for a hike with our son and I took my camera hoping for a sunset on the drive home...no such luck but I stopped in Winchester Bay for a shot under the pier. It is always an adventure with the waves coming in and trying to get the horizon straight and an unsymmetrical pier symmetrical. But it was wonderful to have my tripod and camera in hand again and thankfully we had a beautiful day with no rain even if the sky was overcast.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit, comment, critique, fav
Fave Jane....love this one....the struts seem to curve in again as they meet the water. Beautiful golden light & that long long view to the end! Brilliant!

Very nice lines Jane.

That's a tough one, hard to tell what is level, the horizon or the water (assume no waves). It does draw you into the end of the pier.

How did you even get this, by hanging upside down from a rafter? Love the dramatic perspective and the depth to this.

@wordsmith lol! I was standing on the sand, tripod low, and running from the water when it came too close
