My computer is in the shop for who knows how long. Thankfully I sent this for upload before I took it to the shop. I'm still learning to get the light right on the bird but am pretty pleased with this.

This is amazing! So, is the bird on a cactus or is that also what you added. I feel like I'm in a rut and not moving forward with the program to improve. But I keep practicing. Do you do your layering in the Textures or do you move it to PS eventually?
@taffy the bird is on the cactus with blue sky. First I brought in the second cactus in ps and tranformed and blurred it, then added texture in texture effects and masked out the bird and most of cactus
@jgpittenger It was worth all the work to create this -- I can see where not using PS is limiting how I can create the image with the textures. Did I share the one of the cat and the goose? I think with PS I could make the goose smaller which would improve the image. Next steps!
