Busy week ahead so I think I will probably be posting from the photos I took last week and haven't had a chance to edit yet. It wasn't as stunning a sunset as I had hoped but I played with slowing down the water and doing some hand blending HDR for my mentoring group. Here is the fist one I've had a chance to fiddle with.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
What a stunning capture, Jane. Seems almost 3D when i look right through the center of the rocks. I'm on the same path you're on by being away and then coming back so I'm reminded to shoot every day. Well, I'm WAY behind you on the path!
I really like this Jane. The highlights are just right and you have got just enough detail in the rocks. Very natural. I like the way the light on the water leads you into the image to that lovely soft sunset. Fav!
@jgpittenger This is a well composed shot with lots of visual interest. The milky water looks very good. But IMHO the rocks would benefit from brightening to show the various formations more distinctly. That said, I like it a lot as is, just think it could be even better.
This is such a beautiful shot, and I would never have guessed at HDR. Very naturally done. My preference would be for a bit more light on the rocks, but I still love it as is.
I love the colors in this and the long exposure. I agree with Marnie and Rachel about the lightening of the rocks, but otherwise think you've created a very natural and detailed shot using HDR.
A really lovely shot. So many colors and shades in the long exposures on the beach. I am struck by the colors and depth in the rocks. A really visceral image. I agree with @golftragic, @888rachel and @taffy about slightly lightening the rock formations, but that is a tiny tweak to a lovely photo.
