With all the months of rain (we've now had 133" since October 10!) it was a treat to have sun and wispy clouds for our trip. I will be posting more shots of this spot which feels sacred to me. We arrived here just during the golden hour and stayed until dark heating our soup on our camp stove in the parking lot. Sweet evening. This was built by a man named Simon Benson who was an ambulance driver in WW 1 and came home after seeing the original Stonehenge and wanted to make a memorial to the lost soldiers and a reminder of the losses of war. The photo I posted yesterday of Mt Hood, the Columbian Gorge, and the train was taken here facing the opposite way.
