This was a bit of an experiment...one of the members of our camera club taught me a new way to deal with noise which entails taking a bunch of shots (10-15) making the stack into a smart object in PS and then doing a "median” stack. So I took a bunch of shots and when I looked at them this morning, I saw that I had captured a meteor. When I followed my friend's process, the meteor disappeared so I did a bit of creative playing around and was able to get the meteor in the photo. Does it work? Best by far on black.

It works really well. So is it safe to assume that the program virtually forms an average of all the images uploaded? So would this mean the noise would only appear as it does in one single image? Pretty cool!
@gretchenhambly I’m not sure what to tell you...I’ve read so many ebooks, watched videos, experimented, taken a class over the years...I guess google something like photographing the night sky or Milky Way or some such. What camera are you using?
