Big Dipper Reflected At Outlet

Alternate Title: the One That Got Away! Best on black.
I went to one of my favorite spots last night...only can go there between October and April. Of course having clear skies, no wind, Milky Way visible, water in the outlet is a rare and wonderful gift. We went out after a VERY long day and I got lots of variation in compositions, the stars were gorgeous, the Milky Way clear and awe inspiring....Just as Jim and Pearl's tolerance for how long it was taking me had passed, I noticed that not only had I not had my settings for RAW capture, nor even extra fine JPEGs, nor even fine JPEGs, but for Basic JPEGs!!!!I've never even used that setting. So the Milky Way shots were a bit of a wash and I only had time and companion tolerance of a quick few raw captures. I wanted to cry. But it was beautiful being there and Jim and Pearl were kind to come so I felt safe in a spot I don't like to go alone at night.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
It is one brilliant capture. Not being a pro I unfortunately do not understand it 😉

Beautiful shot Jane. I am planning to go out and do some star shots some time soon now that the nights are drawing in. Hope they are as good as yours.

Your starry night shots are just spectacular, Jane. Couldn't believe that you were able to capture the reflections, too - awesome. Fav

Oh Jane, I can just imagine the clutching feeling in your stomach when you spied the settings. So good you managed to get a few shots of this extraordinary sight.

Beautiful capture. Wish I could find some place dark enough to get some shots like that.
