Heart Breaking

We went on a hike this morning on the beach North of us and were so sad to find this. It is a dead grey whale. The men around it are wildlife experts studying it to try to figure out what killed it. To be so close to a wild grey whale was awe inspiring but to have him be dead brought tears.
I'm way behind on posting as well as commenting. Thank you for your kind words re Jim's injury. Thankfully he is no longer in so much pain but he hasn't yet gotten scheduled for an evaluation by the orthopedist. We are hoping my PT will see him in my place tomorrow. Life is very full with trying to keep up with everything while he is down so I will do my best here!
Oh, this is heartbreaking!

Perhaps we should be glad there is only one! They tend to strand themselves around NZ in their dozens!

Oh wow, hate to see that. Hope it's not anything that's going to cause more problems.

Oh, how sad to see that lovely creature in that state. Lots of anger in Oz with the Japanese whaling fleet active again and catching pregnant whales for 'scientific research'. Totally barbaric.
