Family Out for Meteor Showers

Just as we arrived to shoot the stars, a family of four arrived with their flashlights. My first reaction was disappointment thinking the flashlights would ruin our shots. But then they started talking in the sweet comforting tones that reminds me of reading bedtime stories to my kids...lovely sharing and love. So I think I enjoyed hearing their awe filled delight as much as photographing!
Thanks so much for taking my Milky Way arch to the PP and for your wonderful response to it. I love the shot and am glad you do too. And thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
I think the addition of the family adds yet another dimension to an already wonderful shot Jane. What a magic sight.

Another beauty. We just had too many clouds around here to be able to see any meteors.

This is what I'd been hoping to have in my composition -- not necessarily the flashlights, but the interesting foreground to accompany the Milky Way and some meteors!

The little family makes the photo real - it is so amazing otherwise that it could be almost magical!

Was this the Perseid meteor storm? Such deep, vivid blues...to the sky and water....

@sandrajo yes, but the day before the peak. The peak night we had complete cloud and haze cover

I love having the family in the shot. It makes it real. It could be a cover of a children’s book.
