Best on black. Now it's snowing but Jim and my son Basil and I ate up at the rim last night and went out to shoot the stars briefly while the sky was still clear. Moon was big, we don't know our way around yet and it was cold but I was tickled to get the big dipper resting on top of the canyon wall from Yavapai Point with the moon lighting up the canyon.

Wow - this isn't your usual Grand Canyon shot - this is so different. The Canyon is still there in all its glory but you,ve also managed to put it in context with its environment. So good. :)
This is such a beautiful scene, Jane. Your ability to bring out the best in the night sky constantly amazes me. And that canyon below -- what a special moment you've captured.
