How To Get an Orchid to Bloom

This orchid was up in our cabin ever since Jasmine left in October. No heat on, no watering. Jim noticed a week ago that there were some buds so he brought it down to our house. This morning it greeted me with a beautiful bloom. The combination of my clumsiness with my big knee immobilizer and its placement in our house made using my tripod not an option so it is less sharp than I'd like but beautiful nonetheless.

It is beautiful and it looks like you're going to get further flowers too. It looks like a white one that I now have (it used to belong to my Dad) and it has flowered each year for the last five years - each time from the same stalk.

It's beautiful! Orchids are such a special plant, so exciting when they finally bloom. I have three that are budding so I am anxiously waiting.
