Best by far on black. This is a reedit of a shot I took earlier this Spring. There were very subtle sun rays and I wanted to bring them out. I brought in some sun rays from a picture I took from a helicopter in Hawaii and then flipped them as well. Does it work do you think?

Absolutely works...thanks for the follow - hope you enjoy even when the doves are gone ... and as I am just learning about editing, I especially appreciate your description. I'm hoping to master some editing to get as natural looking images as you have here.
I think it works. The softness of the pastel shades and the vividness of the glory rays and light pool make it a watercolour quality to the image. Smiled at the "I brought in some sun rays" from another image. I have no idea at all how to do a composite! To me, this is seamless.
