We had been at Ballandra Beach the day before without my camera and there had been literally hundreds of pelicans diving for food. When we came back the next day with my camera the tide was in more and there were lots fewer pelicans but still enough to be thrilled. And, yes, this really is the color the water was!

The water does look very inviting. I remember the first pelican I have seen in the wild was in Australia, I run for my camera to capture the unusual bird but soon I found out that they where not so unusual in that area at all :) Are you in Australia?
