What a thrill. We haven't seen the elk hurd for months and have seen two shot by hunters on the horse trail above our house. This morning 16! beautiful plump does showed up in our back yard. This was shot through a window because we didn't want to spook them.

What a sight through your window. Is there a hunting season or can people shoot these lovely creatures when ever they feel like it? Did the people who shot the two near your place actually use any of them for meat or just leave the carcasses to rot? It all seems so sad....
