Integrated Cormorant Nesting Site

You’ll have to put this on black to see any detail. At first I thought these were two different kinds of cormorants but when I got home to my bird book I see they are cormorants and common murres. I thought it was a timely shot with the black cormorants and mostly white common murres coexisting as a reminder that maybe we can make good changes based on recent protests.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
They look as if they're keeping their social distancing! Great capture, Jane!

Most wonderful composition, I agree on black, the details just POP. I also like your commentary on integration. Perhaps, we might take a note from these birds which could show us how we go forward.

A really neat shot against black - fascinating little guys. I am familiar with the cormorants, but not the murres.

That's quite the scene! I'm learning to identify birds better this year, too, but I'm relying on two apps: ibirdpro and merlin
