She hung here for about 15 minutes while the male circled over, under and around her as if he was concerned she wasn't OK. I thought she was in torpor (a sleep like state that hummingbirds use to lower their metabolism). She flew off after I stood there watching for 10 minutes. When I got the pictures on the computer, I saw her eyes were open and her tongue stretched out, so it wasn't torpor. I wonder if there was some kind of mating ritual happening.
