I'm Talking To You

We were blessed with the arrival of white pelicans while we were at the refuge. They arrived one night and the next morning we were looking at a meadowlark (which I was too slow to catch) and it flew right in the direction our eye needed to go to see about 30 of them beginning to wake and preen. I was frustrated with the shots I had gotten so we stopped one more time before we left for home and they took off flying before our eyes. i got a bunch of pretty good shots with up to about 20 of them in them but the detail is hard to see without cropping way in. This bird made me laugh as it flew with its beak wide open making all sorts of noise.I'd never seen white pelicans before so it was really exciting.
very beautiful shot Jane

It is kind of funny with the peak open like this! I wonder what was bothering him? Great capture!

I've never seen them in the air before, it's strange how such large animals can fly with ease. Beautiful capture though.

Believe it or not, they are common here in summer, 900 miles from the coast. This is a very fine capture.
