Hills and Clouds From Mary's Peak B and W by jgpittenger

Hills and Clouds From Mary's Peak B and W

Best on black. This spot reminded me somehow of our trip several years ago to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I shot it from the top of Mary’s Peak. I’m not sure if I like the color or black and white version better.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Both versions are nicely composed but I think I slightly prefer the B&W.

Very seldom that I prefer a B/W to colour! Love the layers and tones here.

It is beautiful in B&W, maybe because of the nice variations on grey.

Beautiful landscape. Is that water in the distance or a mist?

Beautiful shot and tone layers. Now I am going to try to find your color version.

What a look out!

What a wonderful view - I think the b@w really lets you focus on the gullies and ridges of the ranges while the coloured version seems to catch your attention at the bright grassy area and then lead you along the white line of the small valley straight to the snowy backdrop. It's interesting to see the comparison of the two. :)

Lovely tones... I especially like the lines created by those beautiful dark trees.

Beautiful and peaceful

The hills fading into the distance come out so strongly in b&w. Both are beauties, but I like the artistry of this one.
