Exploring The Abandoned

Out exploring the Letchworth Village, an institution built for the physically and mentally disabled. With its appalling conditions it was forced to close in 1996. The place is abandoned, the buildings and other structures remain - you can walk around but are advised not to enter - this was taken from the outside looking in.

September word - view

Interesting facts - with the idea of the patients working on the land, what a shame it eventually closed!

Total sadness and desolation. Hopefully the people who need care are getting it in safer places.

Interesting commentary on the way that help or assistance often starts out with the best of intentions but then falls apart. Fav!

You certainly captured the abandonment of the disabled and the facility to care for the disabled.

How strange that the village has been left like this. Perhaps it needs no further commentary. Quite harrowing.
