Just a Pile of Old Stones?

Well, yes, that's exactly what they are. But I still find it amazing that there was a thriving civilisation here in the 4th century BC with extensive stone built settlements and infrastructure while in Britain we were still running round painting ourselves blue and London was just emerging from a marsh as a few mud huts surrounded by an earthen wall.
Great capture of the natural kind.

Looks like some kind of ruin.

@clarkafb_brat It's Lato, one of many archeological sites here on Crete. It was once a huge city, sprawled in the saddle between two hills and looking down on it's port, which is now Agios Nikolaos and still thrives. But amazingly this site wasn't discovered until 1967. You see ancient history wherever you look here, often with out knowing it!!

Archeological sites are so fascinating. All the more so when they are realtivly undeveloped as you can imagine so much more.
