I must have taken 100 pictures of the horses at the fair in this three horse pull. I don't think I have one when the horses are moving when some little part isn't blurred for motion. Seemed like I had a fast shutter speed but next year I'll have to speed it up or get out a tripod. I wanted one where they were actually pulling so you could see their muscles. Lessons to learn so I can try again next year.
@karlow75 I was hoping people might see it that way and I believe on this one it is on the hoofs. Sometimes they were grimacing (or chewing something) and I got blur on a face.
Nicely done Joan - an image like this needs some blur to covey the sense of movement which otherwise wouldn't be obvious. This is excellent work - a Fav for me.
Fantastic action photo - like everyone else here I like that there's a small amount of blur. Great colours and so much to look at - I like the expressions on the faces of the people watching. I see that your shutter speed was 1/100th - to completely freeze an action photo you'll need something faster. FAV .This link might be useful. http://www.brisk.org.uk/photog/subblur.html
Instant fav. Excellent shot. And I think a bit of blur is necessary to show the movement and effort. It didn't overwhelm the picture, just accented it.
Super action shot Joan! I can hear the thunder from these massive powerful creatures. Big animals like this scare me a bit and I have goosebumps looking at your photo. It's interesting too, that you have the crowd - I enjoyed looking at their faces and reactions.
