I had another picture ready to go but it was a travel mug. Decided to reach back to 2014 and repost this picture I took in my first year of 365. More fitting for my mood and thought it would look good in the collage (which will be a scrap page of course). The color on this is so yellow I couldn't bring it back to the black and white it actually is so had to turn in black and white. Played with it in every program I have but no luck. I wanted to take a new picture but I took my battery and charger to work with my camera to charge at work and it is still there. Will run to Wal-mart later to get another one. I want to go for a photo ride tomorrow morning.
Recipe for a bit more oomph in B&W: open the image in Silver Effex Pro and stay on the initial screen. Push the contrast up - try +50 to start with - then pull the soft contrast down, try -50 to start with, then you can do whatever other adjustments you want.
@vignouse What is soft contrast?? I just Binged this and I am so stupid I never noticed you could open up Brightness, Contrast etc. A whole new world for me. Thanks - see you mentor me still. You know I love learning new things.
I looked at this, read your complaint and thought that the solution might be to play with brightness and contrast and lo and behold that's basically what Richard told you to do. Hmmm...maybe I know a thing or two after all!
As for the shot- yes the revision is the better of the two- but this was a good start.
@olivetreeann You can always learn more I was and I love learning more. Now Silver Efex will work better for me. If I had the time I would like to work on the hazy that seems to surround the fame in the new edit. You wouldn't believe how yellow the original shot is. Wish I still had this cup to reshoot as I still have the towel. I am better at getting a good picture to start 5 years later.
I like that you have gone back to fix an image that you weren't really happy with. Definitely the contrast that is missing but I see you've fixed it, so well done :)
@jacqbb I can try but haven't seen her sit like this much. I challenge you to bw - leading line - taken in your home. I wonder if we are becoming permanent partners. LOL
