These are the flowers you can see in yesterday's picture. They will bloom for a while. Going into a heat wave and that isn't going to be fun. I am doing better but the heat won't help. At least ac at work.
I really like Day Lilies but the deer have done mine in. I don't think I'll replace them- it's too much work to battle the deer. Pretty shot!
Peter was so happy to be Skyping with you. He really enjoys chatting about life in the US and other places and usually tells me about all the people on 365 he's invited to join him. I told him to listen carefully to how different our accents were! And yes, I did tell him how excited I was that you were coming to visit again. Stay as cool as you can this weekend!
@olivetreeann He said he couldn't hear the difference in our accents. I did a couple of Mainerisms to show him what is meant by our accents. I think all he hears is the American accent. I will skype with him again. I am going for a ride tomorrow with a friend (car has ac) and out to eat. Stay cool tool
@joansmor That's really funny that he couldn't hear the difference! It's interesting to see (or hear in this case) how others from around the world view us. I am going for a ride in the car tomorrow for the same reason- ac!!
We have day lilies too. They were 'gifted' by a friend who never ever weeds her garden. I didn't realise this until I noticed that all the plants she'd given us came complete with their own bonus 'weed contingent'! When I asked if she did any weeding, she blithely said no. Since then I have politely refused any more flowers etc. from her garden. Have managed to significantly reduce them...but oh my, it's hard graft with their lateral root system.
