I don't know if I have broken any golden rules on bird photography by cropping like this but for a change I have the eye quite sharp so wanted to make a feature of the gull's face.
I don't know what the rules are. It complies to the rule of thirds nicely. It is lovely and sharp - I'd be dead chuffed with a photo like this - and you should be too! You really get a sense of the bird honing in on something with its eye so clear.
@ethelperry Thanks so much Ethel, I checked out your project, gorgeous shots, I see you like shooting wild flowers, I am hoping this wildflower season to be able to showcase some of the beautiful orchids of the southwest of WA.
