Polesden Lacey by josiegilbert

Polesden Lacey

This is the main entrance to Polesden Lacey, near Dorking. Unfortunately the first floor is currently closed to the public for rewiring, so we could only see half the interior.
A lovely elegant façade.

That’s somewhere I’d love to go.

@susiemc @joev The outside is lovely and the inside would be too, if the lighting was brighter. I know the National Trust want to preserve things, but it was so dark inside that we couldn't read the names of the books on the shelves or the name tags under the paintings properly.

@josiegilbert I’ve experienced this in NT properties. I think they go a bit over the top. It’s a shame.

So elegantly proportioned.

@susiemc If they are not careful, people will stop going to their properties.
