Icicle Dreams by joysabin

Icicle Dreams

Our first set of icicles. A zoom burst into the sun with a 18-135mm lens. Truly grateful for all the wonderful comments and making onto the PP.
A wonderful capture of the movement and swirls. It has an X-ray quality.

That is really cool! I thought it was lace curtains at first.

Icicles! And then some! Rarely seen hereabouts, although overnight there must have been some snow flurries, some of which had frozen...into icy biscuits.

Very nice zoom burst subject!

Wonderful -- it would make a great texture to work with in Topaz Textures

@365projectorgjenfurj Thank you so much, the shooting into the sun and through the window was iffy but okay.

@evalieutionspics Thank you very much, the zoom burst was originally to hide the lack of a clean window. :):).

@overalvandaan Thank you a great deal. The ice was glistening and melting very fast so I thought movement.

@pusspup Thank you so much.

@s4sayer We do get some good ones here, last year was exceptionally cold so we had some very long ones. My husband brought these to my attention.

@chard I haven't seen to many yet but it's early yet. I know I'll post more as I spot them.

@brett101 Thank you a lot, these beauties were just hanging around. :):)

@taffy Thank you so much, I will. I've not tried Topaz yet, is there a version which does a good job with white balance correction?

@megpicatilly Thank you so much, haven't seen much yet this year.

@domenicododaro Thank you a great deal for the fav, the icm was a needed weird level.

@joemuli Thank you so very much for the fav.

@joysabin I just use LR for WB corrections. Textures is more about layering in backgrounds and textures. I've used it on several photos the past two months and can point you to them if you need examples. And @jgpittenger does beautiful work with Textures so you should check out her album for sure.

@jerome Thank you a great deal, I've had family visiting and we went on icicle hunts for them. They live in Los Angeles and ice is in the freezer not hanging from ones roof.

@susale Thank you, the sun was melting the ice and I liked the way the light was making them glow.

@jeffinvt Thank you, but coming from a Vermonter, you get icicles. We have had only a few here this year, but winter's not over by a long shot.
