I've tried taking similar pictures, but without as much success. I like the gritty detail and texture of the sidewalk and the dramatic quality added by the loing, sharp shadow of the upstart weed.
@mbrutus This is a weed that I see a great deal, not sure what it is but a hardy one for sure. I processed this is getpaint.net, using the pencil sketch and adj with curves for luminosity. I like the gritty effect that the pencil sketch gives.
@graemestevens The wild and willful weed was just there and asking to be photographed-who was I to say no.
