NF SOOC No. 18 by joysabin

NF SOOC No. 18

No 18 and No. 2. My 18th NF-SOOC and my 2nd in my Stranger Project.
Let me introduce Sam, a student at NAU (Northern Arizona University) who is from the state of Tennessee. He stopped by the thrift store last week with his girlfriend to shop and we got to talking about photography and film. He wants to shoot film and asked if I new of any old film cameras were for sale in town. He also mentioned that finding places to develop film is a challenge. The options are limited here. I told him that shoot film some and mentioned the film that my Dad left me. I asked if he might be interested in a roll or two. He was very interested so, we agreed for him to stop back this week. I have him a roll of 120 Royal X Pan and a roll of Ansco 35mm. The rolls expired in 1960 so no guarantees. I hope he has fun.

We also talked about old lenses. I took this shot with my Sony A6000 with my old Minolta 50mm lens attached. He mentioned that he had a Helios which made me jealous. I told him about Lensbaby lenses. Wished him luck and he agreed to part of my stranger project.
Wonderful portrait! Such kind eyes and genuine smile.

@jernst1779 Thank you so much, he is a most approachable and nice person.

@yaorenliu Thank you a great deal. I felt lucky to have met him.

@golftragic I hope that he has much better results than I did with my first attempt using my Dad's old old film.

@samae Thank you, I would agree with you about he being an 'old soul'. He was truly a joy to meet and share some old film with.

@lsquared Thank you, there are many photogs in town and the university has a few degree programs that concentrate in photography.

@pdulis Grateful, thank you kindly.

@ingajohansson I should make up some business type cards so that my 'strangers' can contact me if they want. Sam was such a pleasure to meet.

@henrir I hope so, he knows that I volunteer at the thrift store.

VML Sam's portrait and agree with everyone about his friendly and open presence. Interesting to see such shots from another continent; I imagine you're well acquainted with Hazel@quiethazel and her Strangers. More power to your elbow!

@s4sayer I am basically an introvert but I can fake it well so, joining in with Hazel's stranger series I hope to learn how to engage other's more often I liked that he was interested in such old film. Hope he has fun with it.
