@haskar Thank you so very much for the fav. This is one of my favorite spots. @golftragic Thank you so kindly for the fav. I was going to try to use my ND filter and try for a long exposure but of course it was at home. @fjanos Thank you hugely for the fav. I was trying to get an HDR effect. This is 3 variations of the same scene, then stacked in Photoshop.
@fbailey Thank you so very kindly for the fav. Your IR work is truly wonderful. I shot raw and jpeg with my creative setting on B&W so I could better check the tones. IR post work if nothing short of a challenge as I'm sure you know. Keep playing around with all sorts of settings on your camera. There is Laurie Klein's book ( https://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Photography-Artistic-Techniques-Brilliant-ebook/dp/B019M8MZ3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539490558&sr=8-1&keywords=laurie+klein ) that I found helpful but also look on youtube for some processing tips.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything. I also take screen shots of my processing steps so that I have a better reference- my old brain just doesn't recall like it used to. :):)
@overalvandaan Thank you ever so much for the fav. It is nice to see how the meadow/park has recovered from a brush fire earlier this year. @ziggy77 So very thankful for the fav. @gmonty Thank you so much. I just love this area. @pistache My attempt at HDR with Photoshop's help. @jernst1779 Thank you I wish that I had brought my ND filters to play around with, maybe next time. @eudora This park/meadow is at the base of the SF Peaks and is recently recovered from a brush fire. This little tree was scorched a bit but help strong. @jclaireyp Thank you so very much.
@joysabin Of course!!! I'm a fan of Derrick Story (The Digital Story podcast and website) who's a great advocate of what he calls Nimbleosity, ie carrying as little gear as you can, consistent with what you really want from your photography. As a result I've ditched Canon for Fujifilm (for weight), never use tripods, flash or external filters. My camera bag is much lighter these days. Not for every one, I know, but works for me.
@joysabin Thank you so much for that info. I've found a video of hers too on the internet but it's nearly an hour or so I think so will save that for another day. Excellent idea about the screen shots, I forget so easily from one day to another. I'm struggling a bit because I don't have full Photoshop or Lightroom. I think I binned my Nikon Capture disc a few months back because I'd never used it! I have PSE 11 which is pretty out of date but think I can probably get it to work, do get confused with some sites saying convert to DNG file (downloaded editor from Nikon but need to read instructions) and some sites I believe say change to TIFF files. I'm bumbling along with a somewhat cobbled together list of variations from Gavin Hoey and other sources plus using Nik Viveza and Silver Efex ... luckily I do enjoy a good faff in post processing! I haven't yet changed the settings on the camera as it came converted for IR with WB etc set up. Not brave enough yet to venture into messing about with them! Isn't it fun though:)
I'm vicariously visiting Flagstaff through you. I wanted to go up there on Tues (tomorrow), but it's predicted to be too cold and wet for my Phoenix bones. How has the fall colors been this year?
@fbailey There is a software called Affinity Photo- $69 I think. It is a one time purchase and their workbook is currently on sale. $39, it is hardback too. I've have some success with it using you tube videos. @blueberry1222 Sorry about the late response. The early snow in town is gone and the temps are in the 50's. Try this ( www.flagstaffarizona.org/leafometer/ ). @yaorenliu Thank you so very kindly.
