Not a negative but an very cool dried sunflower and leaf.
I am playing with my new lens, a lensbaby 45 sol. I bought it used from KEH.com so I didn't drain my savings. I used a grunge texture background to frame my shot. The ISO was 640 and +2 step exposure setting.
@gardencat I noticed this lonely flower and had to bring it home. It was already in this condition, Mother Nature did all the hard work. It will surely show up again sometime.
@pistache I adore the flexibility that LB's allow. I can't seem to get enough. I need to reach into my brave stash and ask a stranger or two if I can use them as a model. I would really like to see what I might do with this lens and portraiture.
i so agree re portraits. have seen some lovely examples on instagram. my brave stash is at only about two percent strength, though, so not sure i'm going to manage it! do share if you do :)
@henrir The poor flower was so dried out, a very very pale yellow. I plan to shoot again when Flash of Red is done.
@domenicododaro You are so kind, thank you for the fav. I haven't seen sunflowers dry this way before, this one is a keeper.
@jernst1779 I was trying to include a couple of other items in the shot which would have given a blur on the edge but I couldn't get the lighting to cooperate. I kept the lens on since that part was working. Very grateful for the fav.
@quietpurplehaze This flower seems to have kept its grace even after the season. I am keeping this one for future shots.
@jenp The flower was one of the last ones clinging to the stalk- had to rescue it.
@fbailey Thank you a great deal.

@gardenfolk Thank you so very much for the fav.
@golftragic Thank you a great deal for the fav, walking home with a dead flower, I got a couple of strange looks but then this is Flagstaff.
@lsquared So very thankful for the fav. Most of the flowers won't return since there are too many houses where they once grew.
@gamelee Thank you so much.
