Flash of Red No 25

Not what I intended to shoot today, many roads still closed and in need to plowing. This is a old log cabin that has been re-located to town.
Beautiful wintry scene :) fav

Ditto to that! The exposure is so beautiful on this.

This is a pretty scene. Are you okay with what is ( I hope ) constructive criticism?

@gardencat would welcome any and all comments. The more I learn, the more confident in my art.

@rjb71 Most grateful for the fav, The snow is still deep and gorgeous.

@granagringa Thank you so much. I accidentally messed with the white balance on this camera. It has an IR sensor so I shouldn't change that particular setting. I think that I got it back where it's supposed to be.

To my mind this is a classic snowy winter scene, kinda like what could be on a post-card.

@golftragic Thank you a great deal. The little cabin is off the path so it doesn't get many tracks around it, now if Riley had been with me, that wouldn't have held true at all.
February 26th, 2019
@joysabin The pristine snow set the scene very well. Poor Riley, maybe next time.
February 26th, 2019
@golftragic The snow needs to melt a bit, she is still would get lost in it. She tends to jump and dive to make across the backyard.

@joysabin It's not really criticism more a matter of taste I guess...would you consider lifting the shadows just a bit to give a little more detail in the cabin? Unless you are trying to crush the blacks on purpose to give that vintage film look.

@gardencat That's a good idea, I did make a 'color' version which did show the colors of the cabin more (I'm going to post that next week-I've got jury duty then). I was trying to stay within the FOR strong contrasts limits. I honestly felt that this looked a bit too busy for b&w but, again FOR. I have tried to capture this cabin when there was not snow but haven't had any real success, yet.

@haskar So grateful for the fav. I didn't know that this cabin was a transplant. Glad to know that someone made the effort to save it and also get the city to see the benefit of having a park like this.

@yrhenwr We get enough of it so it won't be lonely. I have been trying to get a decent shot of it for a couple of years so I wasn't holding my breath.

@jenp You are so very kind, I am thankful for the fav.

@overalvandaan Truly appreciative for the fav. The cabin has thwarted me so far, but I was lucky this time.
