Trying out a new-old lens from my backdoor, a 500mm manual focus for my SLR but used an adapter on my Sony A6000. It isn't perfect by any stretch but an interesting lens in my arsenal to play with.
@joysabin I guess we are never satisfied with any lens but always hope to improve. I love my current camera but, in going to it, I had to accept using my Canon glass with an adapter and giving up certain focusing functions. And then I see people taking fabulous shots with their cell phones and think I should just shut up and work happily with what I have. LOL
Sounds like a neat lens! I love playing around with old lenses on my Sony A6000, but I find the focus so much harder than when I put the same lens on an old film camera. But then, with digital, I can take as many shots as I want....
@gardencat As I gain more years, I think that I will embrace blur and softness, let the young rich ones get the sharpness.:):):)
@ingajohansson I really like finding old treasures. I wish that they made adapters for new lenses to fit on older cameras, DSLR and SLR's.
@tstb13 A fun site is KEH.com, they have lots of things beside lenses. Ebay is good too. Its the thrill of finding a good inexpensive one that makes it all worth while.
@eudora Right there with you. I have set the peaking level to high which helps some but also using my 'cheaters' to get sharper focus is often the case. I am learning to embrace the soft since it is a bit more forgiving.
@jernst1779 As I type this, snow is all gone except on the peaks and we have 70- so a happy camper now. I say to get some older lenses and play- they don't cost much and adapters can be found for most lenses. This might help ( https://www.popphoto.com/lensadapters/ ).
@fbailey I have a few and am very happy with them, manually focusing is fun too. I'm cheap so, I haven't bought the fancy adapters.
@robz Spring is a flexible thing here, snow isn't unheard of in May but I was pouting.
@golftragic Flagstaff is at 7000ft elevation so not surprises just being a big baby about the flakes.
@shannejw My pup was the only one really excited about the snow.
@ideetje Thank you so much. The snow didn't last much to my pup's displeasure- she loves snow.
@blueberry1222 We now have 70 and sunshine- it was a top- down type of day. (My Volkswagen Bug had her top down)
