Affinity then Photoshopped by joysabin

Affinity then Photoshopped

My journey with Affinity continues. I started in Affinity but didn't feel it gave the punch I was hopping for. I ended up tone mapping in the NIK collection for PS. My version of Photoshop will someday bite the big jpeg as it is 9 plus years old so I am trying to learn to use other editing software before I loose it.

Interesting tones. I like your edit.

This has such a surreal feel to it, and I do like the tone mapping you chose.

@jernst1779 Very much appreciate the fav, it was fun to play.

@onewing Thank you so much. Playing with edits can be fun, of course it must work the way I want it to...:):):)

@taffy Thank you so very kindly for the fav. Don't normally use tone map but I was happy how it worked.

@blueberry1222 Thank you so much. The water is disappearing.

@fbailey Most appreciative of the fav. Tone Mapping is almost like HD effect but with one image instead of multiple.

interesting processing - I'm using GIMP which is a freeware version of Photoshop - and I've just downloaded the latest update which apparently debugged the last one. It's very similar to Photoshop from the instruction videos I sometimes find and follow, as I can usually work out how to do something from a Photoshop video and then convert it into GIMP.

@shannejw You Tube is a wonderful place to learn how to do things. Since Adobe charges so much and I still won't ever own it, I am trying other software. There are times when I use my old Photoshop and paint.net since each seems to have their own strengths. I don't know too much about GIMP but might try it someday.

The colors give me a feeling of dusk- very nice. You will still have PS you just won't have the tech support and if you switch computers of course the newer one may not talk to the old program. Several of my friends in photo club have older versions which they still use- one keeps his old laptop just for that! I use a program called Smart Photo Editor most of the time. I refuse to "rent" photo shop and this program is a one time purchase which they are constantly updating. I really like it. I also use the premium versions of Ribbet and BeFunky but they both have free versions on line. Don't forget as an ACE member you can also use Picmonkey after you've uploaded your picture here- it's a nice feature in a pinch. Nice work here!

@olivetreeann Nice to know that there are 'non renters' out there. I can't find my product key to PS anymore so, I can't move it. I've not tried Picmonkey, I should, any pointers that you might have?

@joysabin Well the best part is that as an ace member you get it for free. The only draw back is that you have to upload your unprocessed picture here and then transfer it over to Picmonkey via the "edit in Picmonkey" tab in the Photo Details box. Sometimes people will comment while you're working on it in Picmonkey but you won't lose any of their comments when you switch the picture back. It's a pretty straight forward program and it has some nice effects. I always tell people, just have fun and play with it until you find what you like. And if you do have any questions, always feel free to ask!
