Ventured up to the backside (northside) of the San Francisco Peaks to try and get some meteor shots. After setting the camera to take her 100 10 second shots I turned my mirrorless on the western sky. The smoke from the lightening caused Saber fire was giving interesting colors.
This is a hand held shot since I had forgotten the quick release head for the tripod. I always seem to not bring one vital piece of equipment no matter how much I plan.
@taffy Most grateful. The night sky continues to be a challenge. I got lots of stars shots but no meteors. I did capture a vertical streak. It wasn't a meteor since the exposures were 10 seconds and there are 5 images of it. The closest we can guess is Aliens- not the ISS or satellite or plane, not blinking either. This is Flag and the middle of almost nowhere, so it could be anything.
@blueberry1222 Glad you made the climb but sorry about the smoke. The wind on Wed was making Flag thick with smoke. I don't have it in me to climb Humphrey's.
@jernst1779 Very thankful for the fav. The wind had died down by the time I made it up there so I wasn't too bothered- thank goodness. They are making progress but its in a not so accessible area.
@sugarmuser Thank you so much for the fav. I usually bring it but so often am lazy about opening it up.

@ninaganci Thank you so very much for the fav. I need to make check lists when I go out on a shoot but, I'd probably leave that at home :):)
@samae Thank you so very kindly, truly grateful for the fav. Hold my breath and plant myself against the car :):)
@haskar Thank you so very kindly.
