Appreciating the last bits

On my way down to the lakes edge, I spotted wild iris backlit by the setting sun. This is ASOOC, (almost straight out of camera). I only corrected the horizon a tad.I felt having the back ground and horizon wonky was just too much. Using a 12mm close up on the flowers required me to try and compose at an odd angle.
Gorgeous backlight on the irises!

@redy4et Truly grateful for the fav. I was surprised how warm it was at the lake this evening. Most everyone else was packing up and heading home too.

Beautiful lighting, they are really taking in the last stages of sunlight aren't they.

Lighting on the flowers is great. Would have loved a full frame of iris, though.

Love this! The light on the iris is wonderful. Love the composition with the blurred sunset in the background. Just fantastic.

This is stunning- spectacular lighting! I'm glad you straightened the horizon. A tilted horizon is one of my photographic pet peeves! fav

@onewing I squatted down to snag this image- getting back up wasn't so pretty but I did it.
@pistache This wild iris's are small and delicate but then in this climate they have all sorts of issues.
@pdulis Thank you so much.
@pusspup Most grateful, thank you.
@domenicododaro Truly thankful for the fav. Do you think that I should have stopped down to get a sharper horizon?
@s4sayer Very thankful for the fav. I think that rules are meant to be bendable, if they can't then why bother ....
@k9photo Thank you so much. This wild iris's bottom half was hidden among some ugly grass or at least I thought so.
@jclaireyp Thank you so much.
@jernst1779 You are so kind, truly appreciate the fav. I did worry about the soft fuzzy background.
@dustyloup Thank you so much for the fav.
@bubblequeen Thank you so kindly.
@amyk Thank you a great deal for the fav. I love this time of day near water.
@olivetreeann I totally agree with you. I gotta do more stretches before I take my camera out these days, my old bones just don't bend like they used to :-) Thank you so much for the fav too.
@lostphojo I had wanted to try some ND shots but the clouds were already flat and wispy so I settled for low wide angel in spite of low angles and old bones.... Truly appreciate the fav.

Thanks for asking. No, I like the focus on the flowers. I would have blurred the background even more!

@domenicododaro Thank you, I would have to get a faster lens or sit down and learn how to play with layers and Luminar 4.

@joysabin once one starts with layers it’s done... it becomes an addiction! ;)
