Rim Light Experiment by joysabin

Rim Light Experiment

No need to comment, this is an experiment. I followed the technique in the video by Gavin Hoey ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnrW6MIOLkc ). Now he had/used a few other toys that I don't have but I got the basics of what he did. This is 3 images stacked together.
Thanks for the link, will check it out. What a beautiful glass.

This is really nice- I always think of rim lighting as more of an outline but I like how the light fills in the stem here. Excellent shot!

@bubblequeen Thank you so much. I do like his style a great deal, its very approachable.
@onewing Truly grateful for the fav, thank you so much.
@swguevin2 Thank you so very much, I am enjoying learning new things.
@pdulis Thank you so kindly, grateful for the fav.
@redy4et Thank you so much.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I often use a plant stand as a platform covered by a velvet dress from the thrift store but, it was the flash meter thingy that reaffirmed that I am so very out of his league. I have a old analog spot meter but it is about 35 years old. ;-) @k9photo Most grateful for the fav. The glass is a thrift store find.
@suez1e Thank you so much, I hope you find the link helpful to try it for your self.
@dallboy Thank you so much for the fav. These times have given me reasons to look into new (to me) techniques.
@jernst1779 I would love to see what you can do with this technique. I am most appreciative of the fav, thank you.
@samae Thank you so much.
@haskar Truly grateful for the fav and it was actually easy.
@olivetreeann I did too until I watched. There is so much I have to learn and try. Thank you every so kindly for the fav.

I think one would be hard pushed to find a better example of rim-lighting than this - well done.
