Got the center, almost

I was just a tad early for the full galactic center but I admit to my knees starting to shake a bit. It was cold. I think about 47f (7 or so Celsius). It has been warm this October and my cold skills are still a bit rusty.

Jupiter is the bright star to the left of the Milky Way. Mars which is very close to us at present was in the opposite direction.
Fabulous. Iโ€™ve never actually seen the Milky Way like this. Superb!

Wonderful.

Just below the horizon on the right, houses or auto traffic? it is a distraction to me. Either all silhouette or some light painting, but I can't judge the distances for that.

{I really want to go back to Yellowstone}

So completely grateful for all the kind comments and favs. With the timing of the visibility of the center I compromised a bit. I would have loved to get a different foreground but I guess that is for another time and new moon. More fun to be had, later.

@marlboromaam @bubblequeen Thank you both so very kindly. I have been bitten by the Milky Way bug.๐Ÿ˜‰

Just wonderful! I like the glow from off in the distance. I will someday shoot the milky way....

Beautiful capture; quite magical

@theredcamera @amyk Thank you so very kindly.
The glow is the city of Flagstaff. For a city that claims to be a 'dark skies city' they have a long way to go. I am grateful that I need only drive 20 minutes to get these shots.

Not only a beautiful shot...also a glimpse of what, relatively speaking, we know very little.

You are brave for being out on a cold night - awesome capture

It is truly a gift to be able to see the Milky Way as clear as we do here. I am so very thankful for all of your most kind and thoughtful comments as well as the favs. I think I might ask for hunting socks (the ones with batteries๐Ÿ˜†) for the holidays as I understand that winter is the best time to capture star shots.

Wish I could fav this a million times! I also wish I could take something like it!

Beautiful!

@olivetreeann @chefm Truly most thankful and grateful. Well worth the shaking knees, winter and night shots are great but I need a heated tripod๐Ÿ˜†
