When I went through the steps to 'find' my band and song for this challenge ( https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/44496/first-challenge-of-the-new-year-album-cover-challenge-122-is-on ) I 'landed on' these:
Group - The Hidden Gem, this comes from St. Mary's Catholic Church, on Mulberry Street in Manchester England who parish dates back to 1749.
Song - We need more statesmen. The entire quote is from Bob Edwards "Now I know what a statesman is; he's a dead politician. We need more statesmen."
The album name didn't bother me but after the chaos of January 6th in D.C. I was seriously shaken and started to rethink things. I took the step of going for a new random quote as the idea of any death related to politics was nauseating to my soul. The funny thing is that the 1st 'new' random quote also was centered around guns. I repeated the step and arrived at this quote from Will Rogers "We don't know what we want, but we are ready to bite somebody to get it" No guns but an angry set of words. I wonder what the Universe is telling me?
Finally I opted to stay with my original quote and just shorten it to the last 4 words. I hope that I don't offend anyone with this. Strange and unsettling times we are walking through now.
@ninaganci@aikiuser@nickspicsnz Truly appreciate your kind comments. Being positive is closer to my basic nature. I, as we all, have moments of slippage.
great match of quote and photo. aces! actually, statesman doesn't really mean a dead politician, it's one who is well versed with the principles of running a government in a wise and skillful way and respected as such. i pray for peace for your country and hope your politicians think about being a good statesmen instead. thank you for your entry. aces!
@summerfield You are right, I guess that I am still processing the violent actions of the few. I used to have a T-shirt "A Politician thinks about the next election. A Statesman thinks about the next generation" I do wish that calmer heads would come to the surface and soon.
