This creation of mine sits on my coffee table. It has a string of firefly lights that remind me of the real ones. I miss the time when they are out and about. They don't live in this environment as they love warm humid conditions and the high desert definitely can't provide that.
I've had this string for several years and I can flip it on to dream of the little guys. ( https://fireflymagic.com/ ).
I used to see the little guys a lot, when we had a summer cottage right beside a river, but I haven’t seen them for ages now. Thanks for the glowing reminder.
Ooh. Nice glow and charming display! Would love to see the real-deal some day. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and I don't think I've ever seen any around here before. Apparently they exist here but are extremely elusive and give off a dull glow compared to other parts of the US.
We don't get many here in the Northeast PA woods but the town I grew up in had them all over the place in the summer. I loved watching them! I'm glad your little light display brings back good memories. Nice shot.
So truly appreciate and am very thankful for you kind and supportive comments. I miss these guys so much. My favorite story is when we visited my husband's parents in New Jersey with my son (age 18mths or so). He ran out into the backyard saying "stars, stars Mommy" He had seen lightening bugs/fireflies in their backyard. Of course we had to 'capture' a few in a jar for him.
