Thank you all so very much. I am truly grateful for the kind comments and favs. My learning journey with the Nikon is going okay, each new oops is a new menu item discovered. I am even liking the weight now. I need to figure out legacy lenses and how to get them to communicate together. I've followed the menu steps but am still getting an error code and the camera won't 'fire'. Patience, patience.....

@gardencat So sorry about the delay, I have used this brand for other cameras and find the manual focus just fine. I am basically cheap so manual focus is my go to spot. ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BBI4FI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
